South Dakota, North Dakota, Maine and New Mexico are the less improved along with Oklahoma.

Well dang! I'm impressed -- Baltimore #12??? DC, #19??? HOOOOYA! Times they are a changing -- apparently for the better around here!!!
Man, as a military family, we've lived near some of the most dangerous cities, but not many of the safest. Go figure...
I wonder if we are considered an unhealthy state because of all the chemical plants? :(
Well NYC didn't make the safest, but then again it did not make the most dangerous - I'm okay with that.
Thanks for sharing.
The new blog look is awesome.
Thanks for sharing,
Frances
I'm not too close to any of those, so I guess I'm just in middle America. Memphis is the closest, being three hours away, but it's totally different than little ol' "Nashvul." Thanks for stopping by my blog, always nice to meet new folks. Love your blog and need some time to catch up with ya!!
Just glancing over the safe and unsafe lists, I noticed some huge population discrepancies. The safe cities are relatively small and/or are suburbs of larger cities.
Colonie, for example, is an Albany suburb. If they threw in Albany proper or changed it to the tri-city area, I bet Colonie would lose it's place quickly.
California is right in there was dangerous and safest! I live fairly close to one of CA's most dangerous!
I guess they're saying CA isn't very smart. Wonder if that was based on school test scores??
