Yesterday, dear hubby finished a couple of wooden frames I had designed for him to make for our 'new improved' room. Beforehand the two prints were framed in silver...and metal. For the new room, I thought the metal frames were too 'cold' and not right. LOL So, I sat down with paper and pencil in hand and drew what I had in mind to frame the pictures after the painting was complete.
Other than splitting a piece of the wood, things went awesomely!! The color was perfect, and the contrast was just right for the darker purple walls!!
Naturally, as you see, the room's extra decor is all Gone With the Wind. Trinkets, figurines, and what-knots. (the leafy part you see on the frames are metal branches with bluish berries--just for an added touch)
And here are the results:

I LOVE the pictures! My most favorite book (and movie) of all time!
The frames are nice--he's quite talented. Too bad you live so far away--I have a whole stack of stuff that needs frames. :-)
From Wystful1 -Thanks Alissa!!
Oh YES Wys! They ARE beautiful against that purple backdrop! I absolutely LOVE it!!! PERFECT! You and Bud are quite a team! Just gorgeous!
From Wystful1 - Thanks Melli! I truly love the colors myself. I, to be honest, wasn't sure and quite leary to even begin putting color on the walls again. It's been eons that we've had anything but white walls!! Thanks again.
Great pictures!
Very nice!! Love the green and you're right it provides a great contrast to the walls.
Hey how do you do the comments back to the comments? Is that a New blogger beta thingy?
