THIS IS BIRDCAGE THEATER IN Tombstone Arizona. Famed town "too tough to die" for the "Gunfight on the O K Corral" with Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday and the gang.
Tho, today, the Birdcage theater is to be haunted. All the times we've been there, I saw no ghosts/haunts. The piano was custom built in Europe, shipped to San Francisco and then railed to Tombstone. It's been in the theater since 1881. Numerous bullet holes from gunfights remain in the walls and ceilings of the theater. (The name Birdcage came from the small 'cage' like areas above the main floor where Earp and his brothers often frequented for dance hall shows and melodramas)
It's now a museum.
Thanks so explaining this...That would be fun to go and visit. I always liked all of those old cowboys and thought they were something else. Wonder what they really looked like. Ya reckon they were good looking or just scraggly old gun slingers? Just always wondered. We always just see them depicted on movies of course!! Have a great day. My hubby and I are getting in that JET plane soon and heading to Illinois to visit Julie and family
This is great! Does it still play beautiful music?
Happy Wednesday!
Wow, beautiful piano. I've never been to Tombstone but I have been to Dead Wood. Hey, are you feeling better?
from Wystful1: --Yes, I am feeling 100% now, thanks for asking!!!
That is just beautiful!!
AWESOME!! I love the wild west history! Thanks so much for stopping by!!
Awesome! Maybe my next trip to AZ, I can stay longer and visit there.
Thanks for stopping by.
Love the piano...I've played for many years now. Thanks for sharing:)Have a great Wednesday.
It's a good thing you visited in this day and age, eh. All those bullet holes... Can you imagine living back in the time of being challenged to a duel for a simple disgruntlement? Yikes. It's not like one could just say, 'no'.
Cool pic, Wystful 1, thanks. :)
OH YEA...I remember that fight...it was something to see. Hee Hee. That is so cool and looks like a place we'd like to visit. I just love stuff like that.
Thanks for sharing and Happy Wednesday!
I'm up at http://beckie-photoblog.blogspot.com/
Very cool.... Love the Wild West stuff.... Good times!
If it could talk, can you imagine the stories it could tell? Someone asked if the gunslingers were good-looking or scraggly. Considering the hygiene standards back then, I bet none of us would get close enough to tell!
Now that is totally awesome! I'd love to visit places like that! Thanks for sharing the photo & history too.
My WW is up at My Meme's
Oh & we don't discuss it when the Broncos lose! I can't handle it. LOL! I broke down & got NFL Ticket with Direct TV. According to the guide, they are to be televised here on the late afternoon game on CBS. I'm rather nervous! LOL!
Hope you are having a Wonderful Wednesday!
I'm so glad you explained that! My curious mind was going to have to go searching, if not for your lovely story about the piano. It looks like an entertaining place to visit. I haven't had time lately to play WW. :-( Thank you for dropping by my "place" and for the encouraging words. :-)

Happy Wednesday!
Wow! Fantastic. Mr Lifecruiser would have loved to make a visit there, just because of the piano.
Or the spinet as that kind of old pianos is called over here, according to Mr L :-)
I have absolutely no idea, I just find it very beautiful, as all old things is for me, with all the history they hold.
