I saw the first leaf fall from a tree
the sign that autumn's nearing.
Blissful, happy time o' year for me
knowing summer's disappearing.
Crisp clear deep azure-tone skies;
finally 'lot cooler climes.
Soon, football, turkey 'n' fixin's
warm, comfy tones for my eyes
Puffy white clouds' intermixin's
And welcomed, gentle rains sometimes.
When skies turn gray
I sit and pray
that ne'er a snowflake
shall drop or fall
'cause then I bawl,
I know Autumn's done.
See? Winter drivin's no fun--
After I see the last leaf fall
from the tree so stately and tall. ~Wystful 1 ©2006
