For the last couple of days, I've been nearly 'bed-ridden' but still trying to be a bit functional too. LOL I got a lot of crocheting done and reading....
Been making calls to a chiropractor to have my spine realigned as I took a huge, hard step off a ladder (missing the bottom rung - 'cause I thought I had stepped on the last rung while decending....WRONG!! And I'm paying for my mistaken thought!!!)
Today, I'm much better, but still a bit incapacitated. Yet as the hours linger on, I seem to be a bit more animated in my neck....but only under 'false illusion', 'cause I'm still taking pain killers.
And our daughter today is having a great big celebration at her house, and throughout the week into the weekend!! LOL --I'll tell more in a day or two!!!
Right now================
I just recently finished reading "Angels and Demons" by Dan Brown. Tho, for me it was mediocre, and quite slow at times...it still was a good read. Does that make sense? Unlike the more riveting Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons seemed to me more like an Agatha Chritie novel. Quite infantile in writing style, if you ask me. Yet, it captured my interest. Still, after surmising who 'dunnit' about midway through...I continued to read the entire book. The ending, as in the Da Vinci Code, left some undesirable effects on me. It ended with actually no strong connection to the actual genre of the work. Throughout the entire writing, it was a fictional mystery murder, soon to be committed crimes. On the Vatican. There were many sections that just wouldn't be true in the real world, for instance the gift of a priceless relic to a 'layman' --"the diamond" ...no Vatican resident would give the artifact away! Not in real life....but, again this was a work of fiction, as was the infamous, "Code". Now, back to the ending...it too was just so out of place. A romantic ending in a crime novel. Hmmmmmm, just what are you trying to tell us Mr. Brown?
Anyway, I went to the bookstore to replenish my reading material. Found one that I've been tempted to buy many-a-times prior. Called, the "Biograph Girl". By William Mann. It's a novel, written about the very first movie star, Florence Lawrence. As I live for movies, this is right up my alley of interests!! Hope it's good.

I just knew something was wrong with you. I had not seen you online and kept wondering what was wrong. Sorry to hear about that "last step" not being in the right place...OOOPS!! It is funny how those steps move so suddenly!! I have had that happen before too!! Don't you feel so silly when that happens??? Nice post...I never did get Dan Brown book read. I kept meaning too but I have so many others in front of it to read. I have been reading a lot this summer. Have fun with your new one. I just hope that you get to feeling better very very soon. I am off to Tybee Island tomorrow evening for a retreat with a group from church. I may take my laptop along. I am almost glued to this silly thing. Talk to you later..Sandy
from Wystful 1 Have fun Sandy. Ya, I did feel like a fool, missing that step. And I paid dearly for that giant step! LOL
It is really great seeing you post again but still do continue to get lots of rest, my friend! Enjoy your reading & crocheting! *s*

Well... I quit reading when I got to the part about Angels and Demons -- cuz I just picked it up at the library and am planning to dig into it soon! But I'm sure glad that you are on the mend! You were missed, for sure! And my congrats to Irene! I will wait until she posts and go congratulate her myself!
from Wystful1 Oh, thank you dearly Melli! Hope you like the book! (I actually did, but it still was a bit of a disappointing story for me---tell me what you think of it when you're done!). Your words comfort me....to know I was 'missed'!!! Hugs dear friend.
Sorry to hear about your fall. I do hope you get better real soon. Just take things easy and relax. My thoughts and prayers are with you for a speedy recovery.

from Wystful1 Thank you so much Carol! I feel better and better each day. And can't wait to wake up one morning and feel no pain. LOL
And here I thought that you had hired yourself out as an Ann Margaret look alike and was recreating her role in Viva Los Vegas. Hope you are better. You can always use my story and tell people you fell off the stage! (Just a thought!)
from Wystful1 Hey! Now that's a thought...ya wonder if they'd do a bit of plastic surgery on me while they're at it 'fixing' li'l ol' Ann Margaret look alike? rofl!!! Thanks for the laughs and wonderful warm wishes Lazy Daisy.
I can sympathize with you about the Dan Brown book. I never read Angels and Demons. I read Da Vinci Code first and really didn't like his writing.
from Wystful1 His style is questionable to make one wonder how they got to be best sellers....maybe it's the subject matter and no one is actually delving into his style. I don't know.
