FRIDAY'S FEAST

If you could have a free subscription to any magazine, which one would you like to have?
Must I stop at just ONE choice? I can think of a few that I find myself buying all the time. And to me, a lot of them you're paying nearly $5 to $8 for tons of pages of advertising! LOL Okay. I would cherish a free lifetime subscription to Crochet World, Annie's Favorite Crochet -a personal favorite if you know me, hehehehe - and Crochet. Usually when I pay for them it's for one particular pattern inside the covers. Then, a magazine for pleasure would be People (I like celebrity gossip). A couple more that I read are Astronomy for stargazing, and last but not least, National Geographic. I love the articles and the photos.

Describe your living room (furnishings, colors, etc.).
Southwestern!!! Our living room is 'sunken' (you must step down from the foyer). Carpet: deep blue. Walls: white. A huge theater screen TV (the size is for watching movies more than TV-I love movies, don't believe a word I said in the dessert menu!!) encased in a cherry wood entertainment center...(with Texas Longhorn Steer carvings--it's new since we moved to Texas, hubby made it). Brick fireplace. Leather seats. (not a couch, but 4 of the same 'section-like but still individual pieces' so I can rearrange all the time) A room divider with native american stuff hanging on it...like a horse blanket, pottery trinkets, feathers and dreamcatchers. Tile foyer. 5 dark cherry wood end tables (two with glass tops) On the walls?---Bev Doolittle paintings and antiques from the family. And one framed pencil sketch of mine....Chief Dan George. The ceiling is quite unique also. Very hard to describe tho....it's partially recessed and covered in cherry wood -hanging from the center part of the wood ceiling is a very large ceiling fan --with southwestern/pottery-like globe light fixtures. The 'back' wall is 90% huge glass double sided door (not French) that looks out into our yard.
Salad
What does the shape of a circle make you think of?
A circle is infinite. Like my marriage....my wedding band. Everlasting.
Main Course
Name 3 things in your life that you consider to be absolute necessities.
That's a very difficult question to answer without coming across as selfish and unthinking. But for me, yes-------money would be one of the three. I don't believe in taking charity and to live a decent lifestyle these days you need money. Food, gas, clothing, home, insurance, car, travel, monthly bills, entertainment. Stuff like that are necessities for me...so, money would be one. The other two? Health (but in our country we don't have free health facilities...so money again) and Family. FAMILY is tops of my three of course, but here again, my family needs health and all (well, I guess the car isn't a necessity per sé --but it is a luxury that I'm so used to having that it would be difficult to not have one--where I can drive to SEE family!!!)
Dessert
What was the last really funny movie you watched?
Me? Movies? I don't really like movies much! (JUST KIDDING!!!) Let me think. My all time favorite funny movie is It's a Mad, mad, mad, mad, World! 1963 (With a cast of thousands....an oldie but goodie. I never tire of watching it). But the last one that was really cute funny would have to be pro'lly Napoleon Dynamite 2004.

Your soup sounds yummy! Thanks for stopping by.
Happy Friday!
Oh I loved Napolean Dynamite. Thanks for stopping by my site - you asked about timber venetian blinds - they are made of timber and are horizontal blinds - they open and close by a rod hanging on the side - not the best description but I've never really thought too much about them before and it is late Friday night here down under - great site - enjoy your Friday - bye for now Incog
I loved "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World"! Very funny...
Thanks for visiting!
Very interesting meal. I wish we all had posted one picture of our Soup! It is so hard to wrap my head around the descriptions and colors! LOL
I like your choices of magazines too.
Have a great Friday!
Benchwarmers is pretty good in that lame sort of way too. (Of course without the cult following of ND)
My feast is up: http://mikeandsheri4.blogspot.com
Mornin', Wystful. I have to admit I'm downright ENVIOUS of your big window overlooking your yard... but I wouldn't want to clean it :-) You remember the commercial "I don't do windows"? That's me.
Mine's up.
I would love to have some of your soup! I can imagine it already!
I would love to learn how to crochet again! It was compulsory for us to take up crochet during 3rd grade. My grandma was really good at it and even made me a little pink pouch bag :) The only thing I remember is chain stitch! LOL
Thanks for visiting! I enjoyed your feast!
Well... having seen pictures, I know you're living room is just beautiful! Your feast is wonderful dear!

I'm with you on "Napolean Dynamite"...good movie! We quote it all the time around here!!
As usual...great feasting...I'm stuffed! Never have seen Napolean Dynamite~never heard of it. I live a sheltered life.
Have a great Friday and weekend. My feast has been served. Come get it before it gets cold!
I had always been told to watch Napolean Dynamite...so like the good lady I am I ordered if off of Netflix and sat down to watch it...well I almost turned it off!! I cannot believe that you "LIKED it" Man, I guess I like others so much better..What a different movie..but you know to each HIS OWN...I did finish it though...
Great feast today. I am behind but will try to get mine up. Have been watching the little babies all day;
your living room sounds lovely - especially the ceiling!!
Yeap you are right. I did like the end where finally the nerds win!! That was great!! I hate to see bullies pick on people and always have hated that. It always makes me mad!! I always wanted to go smash them in the face but was always too little (then) to do anything about it. It is fun to see the "picked on" finally win in the end. The guy that plays N. Dynamite is also in Bench Warmers. We saw it and thought it was funny...
Your living rooms sounds gorgeous! Hehe, I haven't seen that movie in awhile but I believe Napolean Dynamite should be in my mailbox via online blockbuster right now! (Running out now.) Take care.
What a great feast. Your soup sounds devine. Everything was very delicious.
I'm up.
Your Blog says a Lot about you...very classy =)
Loved your feast today
my family room is like your living room..you you to step down from the foyer...Loved your Salad...and I think "It's a Mad Mad World is one of the funniest movies ever...they kind of copied the story in "Rat Race" which was almost as funny...
Good Feast...Enjoy Your Weekend!

If I had to pick one funny movie, which is difficult because I just love comedies, it would just have to be the Marx Brothers' "Duck Soup" ... that one just makes me laugh more each time i see it .. and since you liked "Napoleon Dynamite," I would recommend "Nacho Libre" .. it's not as good as "Napoleon," but it's very charming and Jack Black is simply hilarious
That was quite a soup! It sounds beautiful. Happy Friday!
