This morning, I sit by my dear husband and watch his every move. I see in him the young man I married. I remember the times of laughter and tears. Of tension and fears. Of good times mostly, never anything we've not overcome. The love shared for nearly 40 years and still going strong. Tho we're NOT rich in monetary terms---
Being Thursday and since I am no longer on the Thursday 13 blogroll per sé ---Today, I dedicate this (13 lines) to my husband, I feel I'm the richest lady on earth....
I find a treasure in you
Eyes of emerald, sparkling gemstones of green
Skin of topaz, golden; the sun of Ra
A ruby, powerful and passionate
Solitaire sapphire, moody and blue
Diamonds, soul of purity and of birth
Security in links of silver and worth
Natural as a pearl unshelled,
Fortunes of emotions shared and lost,
a wealth amassed of life we shall claim--
I find together a treasure abound
A hoard, a cache, only we would hold
together; a life, a collective time
of marriage, and riches that we've controlled.
....I find a treasure in you!
With my love

That is so sweet!
That is great. Funny but I have been thinking about writing about my husband but not in a poem but just writing. I have been looking for your TT to come up but this is great!! We are so fortunate to have husbands that have stayed with us this long. We are on our way to 43 years together!! Man I am so blessed and so are you!!
Beautiful, just beautiful and well said.
Thanks for dropping by.
That is so beautifully written! I love the sapphire line, Hubby and I are September Birthday twins (which is how we met) Such a sweet list. Take care! -Margie
I love the way as we grow older the young girl and boy still remain to be seen if we look and the man and woman we married is always there to appreciate.
I wrote my hubby a letter when we were dating on the 13 reasons why I love him! our anniversary was and is the 13th. I found that letter a couple weeks ago and I laughed. I don't remember half the stuff I wrote in it!
I always enjoy your poetry.
What a beautiful tribute to your husband!!!

Awwww, beautiful TT, such emotion and strong feelings, wow!
He's a lucky man and you are a lucky woman! Happy TT :)
That is so precious! What a beautifull TT! After 40 years of marriage, and still going strong, you are both so lucky! (Even tho I know luck has nothing to do with it, it takes hard work, and tears). Have a great day!
Wystful... that is very dear. I'm sure Bud was very touched by it. *S*
