For all of us, protecting ourselves from crime is an all day and all night thing these days. Even if you live in a quiet area, you're not immune to being watched and your every move may be monitored. In MORE WAYS than ONE!! We've all heard about our national security program these days...who hasn't. It's on the news every minute. And reports say crime is going up in statistics in comparisons with previous years.
One aspect in life, no matter where we live, is something that we should all be aware of. We have our own to protect as best we know how, tho it still may not be enough, we all should have the ability to 'know' our neighbors here in the United States (for other countries, I'm not sure just how they work it out for common citizens). Anyway, the National Sex Offenders' site is something to keep tabs on. KNOW YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD! And all joking aside with my little graphic above, check this site out and choose your state and type in any zip code. It'll load with a detailed map and show you who lives around your home and vacinity. And by clicking on names listed, if any, and you'll get a detailed showing of what crimes were committed.

Thanks for stopping by my TT...guess we are a lot alike then. funny just who you will meet on this computer and through blogging...that is why I like reading all of these. Fun!! I like seeing what other people do and what they think. It took me a while to get into this but now I guess I am hooked. I almost need to stop sometimes. I do enjoy all of those things that I wrote about. Our granddaughter is here now and I am about pooped just keeping up with her. She is 14 and beautiful!! Have a great day.
This is one of those good thing/bad thing kinda things. It's good that this information is available to us. Like you said, we should be aware, informed and be able to do everything we can to protect ourselves.
It's not at all goood that we have the need to do so.
Isn't it sad we need to bookmark something like this??
Scary! Great post! :o)
Thank you so much!!! If you want, you can go right ahead and post my May West on your blog if you would like. :o) Haha, HE DOES LOOK LIKE CROW!!!! No, I haven't made Crow yet, I tried a long time ago but it didn't work out but I have been planning to try again soon but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Thank you again, your comments always make my day! :o)
Jon: That's so cool! I'll go by and pick it up tomorrow. Thanks so much. And I WILL link it to your blog!!
CA Megan's Law website is very good but a little scary. I don't look at it too often but I'm glad it's there.
On the other hand it's the offenders I don't know about that really worry me.
That nice guy next door? Who knows. Maybe he's just never been caught or he didn't keep up with his registration.
Cheerful thought for so early.
