Umm, yes another remake of an old movie. Poseidon for today, Poseidon Adventure for yesteryear. I've seen them both now, (also the made for TV a few months back which was a total waste of celluoid if you ask me) and must compare the two movies of 1972 and 2006. The older version, starring Gene Hackman and Ernest Borgnine (among others) was quite a biblical survival with way too much bickering and yelling. To me anyway. Granted, it was really good and a new genre of movies - disaster. Good, special in its own way. Today's remake, Poseidon produced by Warner Bros, directed by Wolfgang Peterson was quite very good, tho still remains another disaster-survival of sequences. Somewhat different from the one from long ago, but yet still remains haunting. It definitely had me on the edge of my seat during the entire 1 hour and 40 minutes!! As expected with the effects of today's time, it was astounding! (I especially took notice of the aftermath of the tidal wave hitting, when the ship turned on it's side and the bodies in the water and stuff actually falling OFF the ship underwater. Great imagination and something worthy of realism I imagine).
Good to excellent, depending on your taste in movie entertainment. Hubby and I liked it. Our theater's audience I think liked it also, there was a hush as they left the theater. But I am sure that this will sink quickly. Well worth seeing, maybe not at the theater's cost. But, still a movie remake that won't disappoint you for the first time.

Kia Ora (hello) from that New Zealand blogger. Time changes a lot of things and it is interesting to watch an old movie and a remake especially with what they can do nowadays with the help of computers, etc as in 'King Kong". Thank you for visiting my blogs. I hope you didin't get lost !!! (hehe) Great blog.
Me and Daniel went last night. I thought it was better.
I usually skip remakes, but have been looking forward to this one. Thanks for the review
